TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Deposit
and Payment Policies:
20% deposit is required for each class to reserve a class space.
Individuals reservations are confirmed by payment of deposit, by
check, cash, money order or credit card.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.
All individuals must pay in full for each class on or before the
first day of that class.
Companies may reserve class seats by faxing in a signed purchase
order. Mesmer will bill for the P.O. net 30 days. For more information on payment see the

page.
Cancellation
Policies:
Students who withdraw from class within five business days of signing
the registration will receive a full refund.
If Mesmer Animation Labs cancels a class, students enrolled in that
class will receive a full refund.
Students who withdraw from class 2 weeks or more before the class
begins will receive a full refund.
Students who withdraw from class within 2 weeks of class start will
receive a full refund minus $100.
Students who withdraw during class will receive a pro-rata refund
based on the percentage of hours completed.
Postponing
Classes:
If Mesmer Animation Labs postpones a class before or during the class
date students enrolled in that class will have the option to withdraw
from that class and receive a full refund of all monies paid for that
class.
If an individual postpones a class he/she may reserve his/her seat
for the next upcoming equivalent class with the prior 20% deposit.
All but one week of the free lab between classes will be forfeited.
Legal Verbage:
This agreement will be binding only when it has been fully completed,
signed and dated by the student and an authorized representative of
Mesmer prior to the time instruction begins. Changes in the agreement
will not be binding on either the student or the school unless such
changes are acknowledged in writing by an authorized representative
of the school and by the student or the student's parent or guardian
if he/she is a minor.
Notice to Buyer: Do not sign this agreement before you read it, or
if it contains blank spaces. This is a legal instrument and all
pages are binding. You are entitled to an exact copy of the
agreement, school catalog, and any other papers you sign. You are
required to sign a statement acknowledging receipt of those. If you
have not started training, you may cancel this contract by providing
written notice of such cancelation to the school at its address shown
on the contract. The notice must be postmarked not later than
midnight of the fifth business day (not including Sundays and
Holidays) following your signing this contract or the written notice
may be hand delivered to the school within that time. It is an unfair
business practice for the school to sell, discount or transfer this
contract without the signed consent of the student.

Please Note:
Mesmer Inc. retains the ownership
of all work created at the Mesmer Animation Labs, and grants each student
a non-exclusive perpetual right to use their work for self promotion only.
The equipment, software and facilities of the Mesmer Animation Labs may
not be used for the production of commercial animation or work for hire
of any sort.
Mesmer Animations Labs
is a software training facility, and classes at the Mesmer Animation Labs
are intended to be used for personal benefit only.
More Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board Required Language
The State of Washington requires vocational training agencies to conform to certain practices enumerated under RCW 28C.10.010. It is the intent of this
chapter to protect against practices by private vocational
schools which are false, deceptive, misleading, or unfair, and to
help ensure adequate educational quality at private vocational
schools.

Usual class size: min 2, max 12 people. Average student teacher ratio: 5/1

(9) Ability to benefit : Modern high end CGI software is very complex. Mesmer training reduces the time required to become proficient.
(10) Policy for granting credit for prior education: None. Mesmer does not grant Credits.
(11)Statement regarding transfer of credit to another institution: None. Mesmer Does not grant Credits.
(12) If instruction is calculated in credit
hours...: None. Mesmer Does not grant Credits.
(13) Standards of Progress, etc:
Grading system: Grading is Pass/Fail. All clients who attend 50% or more class time receive a passing grade.
Minimum grades considered satisfactory: Pass.
Conditions for interruptions for unsatisfactory grades, Probationary periods, conditions for reentrance: There are no special considerations, probations, or consequences for either passing or failing a class.
(14) Grade Reports: Grade reports may be requested in person from the Mesmer Registrar, and will be provided immediately in printed form. Grades are kept with each student class record and transcript.
(15) Transcripts: Student Transcripts are kept electronically in the following databases: The MALClassRoster Database, the Transcript Database, and the Animation Labs Accounts Database.
(16) Permanent records: Transcript records will be maintained for fifty years from the date of enrollment. Accounting records will be kept for a minimum of three years.
(17) School's policy relative to tardiness: The student should really show up on time for class. The student is paying for it, and it is disrespectful to the rest of the class to show up late. Absences: The student paid for it - he or she can choose to be there or not. Makeup work: The student may make up assigned work on his/her own time.
(18) Policy regarding student conduct: Mesmer Inc. strictly forbids hitting, beating, kicking, stabbing, shooting, slashing or even slapping any other creatures, whether male of female, of any age, while on the Mesmer premises. Can't we all get along? If you do assault or threaten to assault anyone - including but not limited to another student or an employee of Mesmer, you will have to leave and not come back.
(19) Program Completion and Graduation Requirements: Classes are considered completed at the expiration of the time period allocated for the class. There are no specific graduation requirements.

(22) Placement Assistance: Mesmer will not make any formal attempt to place students or graduates into a job, or provide any advice on gaining employment. Mesmer is not a job placement service.
