Personal Project Production Phase Summer 2004 August 16-September 24 The Personal Project Production Phase (4P) is designed for people who have already completed the Intensive Instruction Program (IIP) or have existing 3D skills. 4P players practice what they have learned by producing a personal animation project for their reel. For six weeks participants in the 4P have unfettered access to the Mesmer labs, computers, editing stations, sound gear, digital cameras, green screen and more. Each day includes 6 hours of unled lab and 2 hours of instructor led lab time, for solving tricky production problems and getting professional feedback. Each week participants will meet with a 4P Producer, who directs the project efforts, helps plan the process, provides structure, and critiques the work. The 4P also includes a special one day class on editing and compositing with Final Cut Pro, and DVD creation with DVD Studio Pro. 4P players then use FCP and DVD Studio to edit and produce video tape and DVD based content to take with them when they go. 4P productions are also loaded into the Mesmer internet file bank, so the movies can be downloaded and viewed around the world.
